We offer a full range of services including:

Statutory Audit

Academy trusts must appoint an auditor to certify whether the accounts present a true and fair view of the trust’s financial performance and position.

We understand that the year end audit process can be a daunting prospect for academies. At Griffin, we look to work with our clients to make the year end audit process as smooth as possible.

Accounts Preparation

Academy accounts must be prepared in a specific format as set out in the Academies Accounts Direction.

Our team of accountants are specialists in the academy sector and have a wealth of experience preparing academy accounts which are fully compliant with the requirements of the Academies Accounts Direction.

Regularity Audit

An accounting officer’s statement on regularity, propriety and compliance must be included in the academy trust’s annual report. This statement must be accompanied by an Independent Accountants Assurance Report.

We perform our audit work on regularity and propriety along with the statutory audit, so there is no further disruption for your finance team. We also provide guidance to academies throughout the year to help them ensure they are compliant with the regularity requirements of the Academies Trust Handbook.

Reporting to Management

As part of the audit process, we will prepare a Report to Management which identifies any issues found and recommendations raised to resolve them. Your Audit Manager will attend a clearance meeting as an opportunity to discuss these findings and obtain management responses for the recommendations raised.

Following the clearance meeting, the Audit Partner will attend your board meeting to present the accounts and management report before final sign off and submission.
